In the previous blog, we learned about Present and Past Tense and also their subtypes. 

In this blog, we are going to learn about Future Tense and its subtypes in detail. 


Types of Tenses 

1) Present Tense 

2) Past Tense 

3) Future Tense 


Now let's have a look at the subtypes of Future Tense.

a) Simple Future Tense 

b) Future Continuous Tense 

c) Future Perfect Tense 

d) Future Perfect Continuous Tense 



 

1) Simple Future Tense 

a) What is Simple Future Tense? 

Simple Future Tense is the tense that is used to inform us about the action that has not taken place but has the chances or will take place in the future. 


Example: 

a) He will go to the library to exchange the book.  

In this sentence, the word will go is the verb. It shows that the action is going to take place in the future. 

To indicate that the sentence is in the future tense, we always use the verb will and shall. 


b) She will go to America tomorrow. 

In this sentence, the word will go is the verb. It is used to show that the action is going to take place in the future. It has not taken place yet. 


2) Future Continuous Tense 

a) What is Future Continuous Tense? 

Future Continuous Tense is the tense that has its verb in the continuous tense. It show that something is going to happen in the future. 


Example: 

a) He shall be visiting that orphanage tomorrow. 

In this sentence, the word shall be visiting is the verb. It is used to show that the action is going to take place in the future. It has not taken place yet. The verb is in the continuous tense. 


b) We will be donating some money to the NGOs. 

In this sentence, the word will be donating is used to show that action is going to be performed. The verb is in the continuous tense. 


3) Future Perfect Tense 

a) What is Future Perfect Tense? 

Future Perfect Tense is the tense, in which the verb is in perfect tense. It is used to show about something that is going to happen in the future and will have an impact. 


Example: 

a) By the time I reach home, my mom will have cooked delicious Paneer curry for me. 

In this sentence, the word will have shown that action is going to be performed in the future. The verb is in a perfect tense. 


b) She will have completed her course by the next month. 

In this sentence, the word will have completed shown that action is going to be performed in the future. The verb is in a perfect tense. 


4) Future Perfect Continuous Tense 

a) What is Future Perfect Continuous Tense? 

Future Perfect Continuous Tense is the tense, which has its verb in Perfect Continuous Tense. It is going to take place in the future. 


Example: 

a) She will have been waiting for me for one hour by then. 

In this sentence, the word will have been waiting for shows that action is going to be performed in the future. The verb is in the perfect continuous tense. 


b) She will have been completing her research papers by tomorrow.

 Phrases In our previous blog, we learned about sentence structure. In this blog we are going to learn about phrases, that is important element in a sentence. Now let's learn about phrases in detail.  What is a Phrase?  A phrase is a small group of words that stand together as a conceptual unit.
